Thank You!

Thanks to all of you for all you did for our show. It was great fun to watch the kids do so well.


Now the last of the work to be done is to move all the sets out of the trailer and into the warehouse. Monday night at 6:30 seems to be the best time to get that done. Please email me back (marlariley@comcast.net) if you can help. I need to know how many will be able to make it.

Update on Brooke Thomas

Brooke went to the emergency room (after the end of the performance- what a trooper! ) due to back pain she felt following her "fainting" scene. After x-rays, the diagnosis was whiplash and a few pulled muscles. She's on bed rest for a few days, and pain and anti-inflammatory meds. She thanks you for your prayers.

Please pray for a speedy and full recovery.

Help Load Sets Tomorrow...

Hey everyone!  We will be at the warehouse at 9:15 tomorrow morning to load sets.  Jen, Patrick and Marla will be there and could do it, but it would be quicker with help.  It should only take around an hour....maybe 1 1/2.

Sunday: Rehearsal at First Church of God on 78th from 1-5 (maybe only to 4 if we lose too many actors). If you are only in the second act, you don't need to be there until 2:15 and only in the third act, you don't have to show until 2:45.

Wednesday: Be at Jefferson Middle School by 5. Be ready to put up sets, ready the prop tables,etc. CHANGE: I had told you to come dressed in full costume, but instead, come with your hair and make-up done and bring your costumes with you. I want to start rehearsal at 6 so we have a little time to help set up and then get dressed. ANY PARENT WHO WANTS TO STAY TO HELP WITH SETS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO STAY AND HELP. We may get done quicker that way and your kids will have extra time to rehearse.

Week 10

Hello,

I hope you’ve all had a good week and maybe had a chance to enjoy the two shows going on “Alice” and “Aladdin”.

This week is our showcase. I’m a little worried because we haven’t had sound effects happen yet. And because the lines weren’t learned. PLEASE, work on your lines this week.

Remember, all of you who can, we are meeting at the warehouse at 6 – 8:30 on Wednesday both to practice the showcase part and to get our costumes. Those who can’t make it, I will bring their costumes to the Thursday class. Those who need to bring their own slacks, white shirts, shoes, nylons, etc. be sure to bring them Wednesday.

Also remember on Thursday to come with hair and make-up done. Casey and Katrina will be helped by Mrs. Thomas (there may be one other person who needed help, but those are the only two I can remember).

Tuesday -

Hey everyone,

I am going get a group of people to meet up at 1:00pm on Tuesday the 9th at the Fort Vancouver Library and we will then walk around downtown Vancouver and put up posters. This is just for anyone that wants to come and is not required for anyone. We will probably walk around until about 3:30 if you need to be picked up before then arrange for your ride to pick you up somewhere in on Mainstreet and we will get you there when you need to be picked up. Please let me know if you can make it and when you need to be picked up so that we can plan accordingly.

Extra Rehearsals - Optional

We are planning on an extra rehearsal on Sunday, March 14 from 1-5. This is not mandatory, but it would be best if everyone that can be there would show up. It will be at the CYT office on Andresen.
I'd also like to know if there is a willingness to practice on Wednesday, the 10th at 6:00 - 8:30 for our showcase the next day and to get costumes finalized. Again, this is not mandatory, but would be helpful.

Week 8


Hi, all,

Just a reminder that we all (those who are not involved in Alice) meet at the warehouse at 5.  Wear grubs as we will be painting and working.

THIS IS IMPORTANT:  WE ONLY HAVE TWO MORE CLASSES BEFORE OUR DRESS REHEARSAL WEEK.  MEMORIZATION IS MANDATORY ON THE 4TH.

Costumes committee:  You most likely will be completing the costume inventory while we are there.  I will bring the updated costume inventory for you to use.  This means that you will take each actor and make sure that we have what we need on our costume rack or make a note of what we still need.

Make-up committee:  Can you make sure everyone has all the make-up they need.  I understand that we needed to get some for two of our actors. Does Grandpa, DePinna, Penny and Paul have gray for their hair?  Penny and Paul need just a touch of gray at the sides probably.

Souveniers Committee:  We need to plan a time to get souveniers picked out.  I will check with the office to see who we need to talk to.

Publicitiy Committee:  Posters should be done and ready for posting this week.  Programs should be proofed (send to me, please) and then sent to printes.
We also need to choose which show picture boards we want to take with us.

Do you feel confident with basic make-up procedures?  If not, let me know asap so I  can arrange another time with Rhonda.  (You’re doing a great job with your dance…..I just thought she may be able to give you a few more steps to use)

MYLES:  We need dartboard and darts to put in the set box

Fourth Week

Costume, Set, and Props committees: Please be at the warehouse at 6:00 on Tuesday. Jen Grazian, Jen Daniel and Nancy Robe will be there to help us tag props, sets and costumes.

We will be meeting at Crossroads on the 28th instead of the warehouse. We will be blocking Act III and doing photo shoots for the program. Please bring make-up kits and (if possible) hair ready. I know we haven't discussed hairstyles yet, but come with something close to a 30's hairstyle and we'll get the real thing later.

That being said Publicity and Program committees please have cameras ready for Thursday. We have to have ads for the three musical programs ready by Feb 4th
.

Costuming at CYT Office

For those cast members who can't go Monday night, Marla will be available Wednesday from 6-8 same place.

Costume committee: Please email Marla (marlariley@comcast.net) if you can meet her at the office to find costumes on Saturday the 23rd (afternoon time); Sunday the 24th; or Tuesday the 26th? We would pull costumes that might work for our cast and be a little ahead for our class trip to the office. Please email me your best day and time and we will take the best time for all.

Third Week

Hey everyone!

We are back at Crossroads Church this week.

For those of you how would like to go over stage directions and script details with Marla. Meet at 6:00-8:00 on Monday at First Church of God (Marla's office in the High School building.) Bring script and pencil. This is NOT mandatory but there for those who would like to have extra help with their characters.

We need poster ideas in for publicity poster by Thursday.

We will be doing a run thru of Act I Thursday so memorization should be done. We also will be finishing our blocking for Act II. Those not in either Acts will be working on committee work.

Reminders for Thursday 's class...

Hey everyone, just a few reminders for Thursday...

1. Remember production fees and script fees
2. Bring your scripts, pencils, committee folder (if you are the committee leader), character sketches (if you haven't already turned it in)
3. We will be finishing Act I and beginning Act II. Please start looking over script and try to memorize as much as possible.

Set Committee- It would be helpful if you would be there early (by 15 minutes) to help set rooms up as the stage design shows.

Costume/Make-up committee- Remember that Nancy Robe will be in to teach them measuring. They should bring a measuring tape if they have one.
